A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RECEPTIONIST
Being the first point of contact for clients walking through the door and on the phone I have always tried to make sure that people feel comfortable and I present a positive image for the business. I believe you have to be a real people person to do reception work, even if you’re having a bad day.
I love the face to face contact with people and the many varieties of tasks that come with the job like answering calls and returning them, messages, greeting clients, answering questions, mail, filing, emailing and scheduling appointments for the sales and rental departments. Being in a small office environment I also complete, sales contracts, leases and also other documents when its required.
Being organised and able to multi task is a key factor to things running smoothly which then makes other staff and the office become more organised.
Every day is different and there can be no set structure for completing jobs as sometimes circumstances require, urgent jobs come in that have to be completed first.
I love being able to help people when sometimes they just need a little guidance or a listening ear, even if it at times some of it should be common sense haha.
